Finally… I had created this first Blog…

22 Oct

Hi there!

This is my first blog and first post. This space will be where I share my creations – anything from cards to journals to canvas projects. On the right of this blog shows some of my past creations.
I welcome like-minded crafters to feel free to leave comments.

For this post, I am going to share a piece of Art Journal I had recently made – something simple and easy to create in no time.

Materials used:
Faber-Castell Gelatos
Pink Paislee Artisan Album – 2 pieces of 4 X 8 fabric coated wood covers
Prima Marketing resist canvas embellishments
Assorted Chipboard embellishments
Scrapbook papers (for inserts)
Hambly Studios – Screen Prints – Woodgrain Remix – Pink
Coloured Elastic Bands
Ranger Stamp Pad Foam
Glossy Accents / White Glue

I simply love the Faber-Castell Gelatos. They are as yummy as those which can be eaten.

1) Glide your chosen Gelatos on the covers. Next, use a small piece of foam to smoothen out the colour and blend them till you are happy with the result.
2) Cut the screen print slightly smaller than the front cover and adhere it to the cover with glossy accents.
3) Apply the Gelatos to the resist canvas embellishments and chipboard embellishments.
4) Assemble the embellishments to the cover and adhere them with white glue when you are please with the outcome.

Step1-4

5) Cut out some scrapbook papers for the inserts. Punch 3 holes. Do make sure the holes are in line with the covers for the tying later.

Step5

6) Assemble the inserts and covers accordingly. Tie a simple knot to secure the inserts and covers together. Don’t make it too tight – a good estimate is when you can turn the pages comfortably and not in a rigid manner. Alternatively, you can replace the elastic bands with binder rings.

Step6

7) The finished product.

Finished Art Journal
